Scope is a national disability charity with a turnover of c. £95 million whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. Our mission is to drive the change to make our society the first where disabled people achieve equality. We campaign to banish disablism and we deliver a wide range of services to support disabled people and their families to have choice and control over their lives. Scope is currently implementing a Financial Infrastructure Change programme with the aim of improving and optimising key processes and service quality.
As the Financial Controller, you will report to the Director of Finance and lead a team in the provision of high quality, objective financial and technical advice to the organisation, ensuring effective accounting and control systems, and reporting in accordance with charity legislation. You will play a key role in the Financial Infrastructure change programme by leading relevant work streams in the delivery of the programme and assessing the resulting changes, specifically with regard to financial accounting policy, procedures and reporting.
You will be a qualified accountant with experience of charity accounting, a strategic thinker who is also able to deploy your excellent technical finance knowledge, including strong systems and Excel skills and understanding of SORP 2005. Crucially, you will have the outstanding people-management and communication abilities relevant to a role of this level, and the proven leadership qualities to be a force for change within Scope.
